Project Manager

Assignment Description   

This is a Project Manager position with an objective of building upon and developing effective key partnerships within downstream communities and other relevant response agencies in relation to The Client's  Muskrat Falls and Churchill Falls Dam Safety Plans. Receiving direction from Manager; Dam Safety, and Manager; Indigenous Affairs; job functions include but are not limited to:

 · Identifying, developing, and building upon key partnerships within communities downstream of Muskrat Falls and Churchill Falls (Happy Valley Goose Bay; Sheshatshiu, Northwest River; and Mud Lake) 
· Leading, supporting, and/or implementing information sharing initiatives with relevant community and response agencies leadership/representatives/others in communities downstream of Muskrat Falls and Churchill Falls |
· Gathering information relating to community emergency preparedness and response agencies’ resources as pertaining to the implementation of Hydro’s Dam Safety Plans · Working with downstream communities and relevant agencies to support objectives as outlined by Canadian Dam Safety Guidelines 
· Leading/participating in internal/external one on one and group meetings/sessions 
· Providing input into long-term planning to support continued key partnership engagement · Working closely with Hydro management and operations teams to understand and facilitate strategic objectives in keeping with Hydro’s values 
· Supporting, overseeing, and coordination of Employees, Contractors and community organizations as required 
· Ensuring safe execution of work plans 
· Maintaining effective relationships with operations, maintenance and project management personnel at Muskrat Falls and Churchill Falls. 
· Record keeping as directed

Position Requirements 

1. Management experience working with Emergency Response Procedures; understanding and familiarity with the Client's Emergency Response and Dam Safety Management Protocols is an asset 
2. Proven track record of effectively building partnerships and sharing information with forementioned downstream communities; experience forming and maintaining positive working relationships with indigenous governments/ organizations 
3. Working knowledge of Muskrat Falls and Churchill Falls Operations. 

Duration
4 Months with Possibility of Extension

Location
This position requires extensive time spent in Labrador.
