Package Manager
NSB Omega is searching for Package Manager's for our Client.
Job Description:
The Package Manager will be responsible for managing specific project packages, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of equipment, materials, and services required for the construction and operation of the new plant. This individual will manage procurement, scheduling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all packages are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Package Planning & Management:
- Define and manage the scope of work for specific project packages (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil, or specialized systems) for the plant construction.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements for each package.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure that all package requirements are clearly defined and agreed upon.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
- Lead the procurement process for package-specific materials, equipment, and services.
- Identify and qualify potential suppliers, ensuring they align with project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or performance.
Schedule & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage detailed schedules for each package, ensuring that all milestones are met and that work progresses according to plan.
- Monitor package costs, ensuring they remain within budget and recommending cost-saving measures where appropriate.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior management, identifying any deviations from the plan and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure that all work within the package scope adheres to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure all materials, systems, and processes meet project specifications.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks associated with each package, including supply chain disruptions, design changes, and safety hazards.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Proactively manage and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise within the package scope.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all package-related matters, communicating regularly with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Provide clear and concise updates on package progress, risks, and resolutions to senior management and other relevant teams.
- Facilitate collaboration and coordination between all involved parties to ensure smooth execution of the package.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each package, including contracts, schedules, change orders, and procurement details.
- Prepare and present regular reports on package performance, status, and issues to senior management.
Sustainability & Innovation:
- Support the company’s sustainability goals by sourcing environmentally responsible materials and promoting energy-efficient solutions within the package scope.
- Stay informed of industry trends and innovations that can improve package delivery and contribute to the plant's long-term success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in package management, project management, or construction management, preferably in the industrial, energy, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong experience in managing procurement, scheduling, and coordination of multiple project packages in large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with a track record of managing cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project, SAP) and procurement systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with sustainability and environmentally responsible construction practices is a plus.
- PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.

Ontario, (Must be willing to relocate down the line to where the site will be built at later stages)
